Updates have emerged regarding the battle between NFL legend Terrell Davis and the United Airlines company.

Earlier this month, Terrell Davis announced in an Instagram post that he was handcuffed and taken off a United Airlines plane by FBI agents and local authorities following a complaint from a flight attendant. Davis claimed that he “tapped” the arm of the attendant to ask for some ice in his son’s drink.

According to Davis, the attendant screamed, “Don’t hit me,” before seeking authorities to take him off the plane. In his post, Davis said that the agents determined the employee’s story was “inaccurate”, and the two-time Super Bowl champion quickly sought legal action.

A video of the incident from Davis’ legal team was released last week:

Though United Airlines later apologized to Terrell Davis, the 1998 league MVP announced another shocking twist to this ongoing saga: Davis has now been added to United Airlines’ “No Fly List”, and he shared an email he received from them as proof:But here’s where it gets even weirder: According to Chuck Schilken of the Los Angeles Times, United Airlines claims that it has lifted the travel ban on Davis and that the flight attendant involved in the incident no longer works for them.To complicate things further, United Airlines told Schilken that Davis received the email (which he shared on Instagram) the day after the incident. Davis’ legal team then informed Schilken that he was only informed of the ban being lifted AFTER his Instagram post.

So to recap: Terrell Davis is allowed to continue flying on United Airlines, and the employee who accused the Super Bowl 32 MVP of “hitting” him is no longer employed by the company.

It’s rather clear that United Airlines and the authorities involved did not handle this situation with Davis very well at all. It would have been even worse PR on their end if Davis stayed on their “No Fly List.”

But Davis took swift action and made sure that the matter was handled fairly for himself, his family and future United Airlines customers. Finally, the two-time Super Bowl champion can move forward.
